
Alex Hennig
Alex Hennig (she/her or no pronouns) is white, able-bodied, hearing, queer and has experienced classism. Since their 2022/23 season, Alex has been working as a dramaturg at Künstler*innenhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt am Main within the team Programme and Encounter – and for Tanzplattform Rhein Main. Alex previously worked as a freelance dramaturg, curator and journalist in Berlin’s independent dance scene. From 2020 to September 2022 she was an active member of the steering committee of Tanzarchiv Berlin. As a journalist, she has written for Tanz magazine, tanzraumberlin magazine, Berliner Zeitung, and others. As a dramaturg, she works on topics of aesthetics of access, embodiment, humor and the archive. Together with Hendrik Quast she initiated the Artist Lab Witzigkeit Knows Its Limits –Classism and Humor in the Performing Arts as part of the Nationwide Artist Labs, funded by Fonds Darstellende Künste. In 2023, Alex co-curated the Tanzfestival Rhein Main together with Anna Wagner and Bruno Heynderickx.
