Boglárka Börcsök

Boglárka Börcsök is a Hungarian performing artist and choreographer who is based in Berlin. As a dancer and performer, she has worked with Ligia Lewis, Kate McIntosh, Tino Sehgal, Joachim Koester, and many others. She collaborated with Eszter Salamon for several years on her acclaimed Monument series, including Love Letters to Valeska Gert, Monument 0.3: The Valeska Gert Museum, and Monument 0.5: Valeska Gert Monument.

Since 2020, she has been collaborating with artist and filmmaker Andreas Bolm. Together, they made the documentary film The Art of Movement, which is a portrait of three dancers over the age of 90 from Budapest. Their performance and video installation, Figuring Age, based on the film, was presented at the Moving in November festival in Helsinki and the ImPulsTanz festival in Vienna, among others. There, it received an honorable mention. The project was selected for the Aerowaves “Twenty23 Artists” network and the Impulse Theater Festival’s SHOWCASE 2023, and it is currently touring Europe.

Boglárka Börcsök received the 2023 Rudolf Lábán Special Prize from the independent performing arts scene in Hungary. She and Bolm are currently developing multiple works on the figure of the German Dada artist and poet Baroness Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven (1874-1927).
