Agnes Kern

Agnes Kern (they/them) works as a project and production manager in the field of contemporary dance, culture, education and fine arts. Agnes led the project Archivkompliz*innen – Tanzarchive in Bewegung for TanzArchiv Berlin in 2022 and TanzArchiv Berlin digital in 2023. With a background in dance studies and art history, Agnes also has a focus on queer dance historiography and archives as community work. They initiated an archival project on the dancer Iris Barbura, together with the German Dance Archive Cologne and the Centrul National al Dansului Bucuresti (CNDB), Romania in 2017. The reflection of their own privileges, positioning and critique of discrimination is fundamental to their activities. Agnes is white, non-binary, hearing, non-disabled and has experienced classism.
