Andrea Keiz

Trained as a biologist and dance teacher, Andrea Keiz has been working as a freelance artist in the field of video production for contemporary dance since 2000. In addition to documenting live performance on stage, she is, since 2015, focusing on documentation of artistic (research) processes and on the question of how to publish on artistic research. She has also worked with numerous choreographers to produce films and video for stage works. Her own ongoing research project deals with the history of contemporary dance in (West)-Berlin. Participatory video projects with senior citizens and young people have taken place under various socio-cultural and political aspects such as xenophobia, long-term unemployment, intergenerational issues and more.
