The black and white photo shows a portrait of a white woman with glasses sitting at a table in front of a microphone and listening to someone with interest. Her head is tilted to the side and resting on her hand. She is wearing a thin turtleneck and a light black cardigan. Her mottled gray hair is half-long. In front of her is her name badge and a glass of water. She is part of a discussion group. Some of the audience can be seen in the background.

Claudia Henne

Claudia Henne studied German and political science at the Free University of Berlin and turned to radio journalism after graduating with an MA. From 1982 to 2002 she was a permanent freelancer, working as an editor, presenter, author and critic for the cultural programs of the Sender Freies Berlin (SFB) and other ARD stations. From 2002 to 2016 she was employed as editor at Rundfunk Berlin Brandenburg (rbb) where radio, television and unusual projects made up her everyday work. She was involved in cultural politics and spent many hours in discussions about a Berlin dance house and the future of dance funding. After retiring, she decided to re-apply her knowledge in cultural policy and took part in the discussions at the Round Table Dance (2018-2019). In 2020 the archive working group became the Tanzarchiv Berlin steering committee, and as a part of this, she, together with others, seeks to create a “living archive” that aims to make the diverse political and artistic history of dance in Berlin visible and available to future generations.
